For operators, transport managers and consultants

Mission control for your operator licence.

We’re Logan Logistics, a transport compliance consultancy in Blackburn: operator licence applications, DVSA and FORS audits, tacho analysis and driver training. We can introduce independent external transport managers, who contract directly with the operator. We built Roadworthy so the operators we work with could keep the daily walkaround, defects, inspections, driver licences and tacho in one place, with the proof kept as you go. When DVSA or the Traffic Commissioner asks how the fleet is run, the answer is already on file.

Why we built it

We were fed up of proving things we knew we’d done.

We’ve walked round a lot of yards as auditors and transport managers, and most operators do the work. The walkarounds get done, the inspections get booked, the licences get checked. The trouble is where the proof ends up: a sheet in the cab, a PDF in the garage’s inbox, a spreadsheet on somebody’s laptop, a date on the office whiteboard. The work was done, but nobody could put their hand on it.

At a Public Inquiry that matters a great deal. The Commissioner will want to see the records, not just hear that the checks were done, and a file put together after the call-up letter arrives carries less weight than records kept at the time.

Timing was the other thing. A week’s notice of an inspection date doesn’t get you a slot on a rolling road. By the time most reminders go off, you’re already late.

So we built what we kept wishing our clients had: the checks, defects, inspections, drivers and tacho in one place, with the record kept as it happens. We’ve helped operators get ready for a Public Inquiry, and this is what we would want in front of us if the letter came.

…effectively and continuously manages the transport activities of the undertaking.

The law on the transport manager’s role, as quoted in Statutory Document No. 3

Roadworthy is built to help a transport manager show that, week by week.

How it works

What it does, job by job.

Six jobs every operator has to keep on top of. Roadworthy does each of them and keeps the record.

Daily walkaround checks

A laminated QR card in every cab. The driver scans it on their own phone and does the check. No app, no login. Defects go in with photos, and every check is timed and located where the phone allows.

Walkaround checks

Defects, start to sign-off

Who reported it, who looked at it, who fixed it and who signed it off, with the paperwork attached. You can’t sign one off without the evidence.

Defects

Inspections & maintenance

Inspections, brake tests, tacho calibration, MOT and tax on one calendar, with four weeks’ notice. Your garage uploads its sheets through its own link, and a chase-up letter is one click.

Maintenance

Driver licensing & CPC

DVLA licence checks on a 90-day clock. CPC, tacho card and licence expiries emailed at 90, 60 and 30 days. Medicals and ADR kept on the driver’s record.

Drivers

Drivers’ hours & tachograph

Upload card and unit files from any reader. Infringements, working time and missing days, each one explained in plain English. Already on Tachomaster? You can connect it. This is the Fleet Analysis add-on.

Tachograph

Driver briefings, signed

Toolbox talks, memos and videos sent to the driver’s phone. They sign to say they’ve read it, and you can see who hasn’t.

Briefings
The weekly record

The transport manager’s signed record.

Every week Roadworthy pulls the evidence together and sets it against the transport manager’s duties in Statutory Document No. 3. Anything short of the standard needs a written answer or an action. Then the transport manager signs, and the week is locked. A record kept like that, week after week, is a very different thing from a file put together after the letter lands.

  • Evidence pulled from the week’s own recordsChecks, defects, inspections, licence checks and briefings.
  • Exceptions need an answerYou can’t sign the week with something short of the standard left unexplained.
  • Signed, then lockedOnce signed, nothing in it changes. The PDF shows exactly what was signed.

In the cab

The walkaround, on the driver’s own phone.

A laminated QR card in every cab opens that vehicle’s pre-use check. Big pass and fail buttons, made to be used stood by a lorry in the rain.

Virtual TM edition

A transport manager’s assistant on every cab card.

Drivers ask by typing or talking, in English, Romanian or Polish. The answers come from the legislation register, the roadside playbook and the driver’s own record, and each one shows where it came from.

  • Every answer shows its sourceAnd what kind of rule it is: law, guidance, your own licence undertaking, or a voluntary standard.
  • A morning email for the officeWhat’s overdue, what’s due, and what came in overnight.
  • It files the paperwork that arrives by emailA garage’s inspection sheet comes in and is filed against the right vehicle. If it isn’t sure, it waits for a person.

It shows its sources. The transport manager makes the decisions. It never tells a driver they’re fit or legal to drive.

Who makes it

Logan Logistics, Blackburn.

We’re a transport compliance consultancy, not a software house and not a haulier: operator licence applications, external and nominated transport managers, DVSA and FORS audits, tachograph analysis, driver training, Public Inquiry preparation. More than twenty years of it. We built Roadworthy because we wanted it for the operators we work with, and it does the jobs that have to be kept on top of and keeps the proof. If you’d like our consultants alongside the software, ask about a bespoke package.

Our transport manager services are contracted separately, directly between the operator and the transport manager. They are never part of a Roadworthy package or a software price.
